Shadowrun - Halloweener Boss

"There's nothing a good blade and a smiling face won't get you in this world."
- Nightmare

I'm a little late for Halloween, but I was busy moving across (down) country to Arizona.  I am now relocated again, and have come full circle to where I started after I left Texas so many years ago.  Anyway, hope you guys enjoy this new Shadowrun portrait.

The Halloweeners are a vicious gang from Downtown Seattle.  Known for their cruel, psychotic natures, and their absolute hatred for corporate security forces.  Constantly at war with them, they often come under intense fire from their enemies.  The current boss, Nightmare, is a man who loves nothing more than to cut his enemies and to enhance his grisly visage with some well placed Little Chiba Cosmetic Enhancement Surgery™.  The effect is usually well worth the Nuyen.

Don't Mace Me Bro!

I've been swamped with more contract work on The Revelation App, but had time to squeeze in a small study. This one is not Under War related, sorry all my (one) fans! haha.  Anyway, I have a bunch of stuff lined up so check back again real soon now, ya hear! *cracks his whip*

Enjoy!

Portraits from the Under War

Tizona and Colada

“Gentlemen, I can see that our dialogue has become a stalemate. This is unfortunate. Therefore I must bid you farewell. However I shall leave behind my colleague here to finish....persuading your positions on the matter. He is not so patient as I...sleep well.” - Colada

On loan from the Spanish Empire, the "Knights of Negotiation", Tizona and Colada are the chief arbiters of disputes and disagreements for the Terminus. Colada, a soft spoken and gentle persuader is generally quite capable of bringing to light the spurious claims and debatable positions of parties in a peaceable manner. Colada is a master logician and a fantastic arbitration tactician that can read a situation at the table, and understand when there is no hope of resolution by himself. When this occurs, he ends the discussion and refers the embattled parties to his cohort – Tizona. A hulk of a man, almost eight feet of muscle and leather, Tizona is the last, and final, resort to any negotiation.

Taking a break from the Underwar (more on the way very soon) to post something random.  Lets hope the colors look right on your monitor!

Portraits from The Under War

Constance G. Beauregard & “Bok”

Possibly the least understood of the Terminus Wizards, Constance not only spoke little, but practiced a form of magic little understood to most other wizards both in its application and usefulness. She was often regarded with a bit of fear because of her dark mannerisms, but also because of her constant companion who she merely called her “child”. Constance certainly never had any husband that anyone knew of, for she certainly never suggested she had one or that she even gave birth to the “child”. She also did not have any male suitors, and even if one were to attempt, it is uncertain if it would even matter to her. She spoke in an even, quiet manner only when spoken to directly, and had a special kind of chirp-like language she spoke only to her child with. Despite Constance's mannerisms, her child's - often referred to as Bok – revealed a completely different and alien creature. Shy, but extremely mischievous, Bok often appeared in places where he both had no right and no access to, both to cause trouble and to do nothing more than stare. He often would break something, chirp and then run off disappearing though a doorway or into a closet to not be found when pursued. His demeanor and appearance, though childlike is anything but, with pale waxy skin and eyes as black as obsidian. Though considered a child by Constance, most other people believed Bok to be an Imp, either found, summoned or enslaved by her.

Craydon Knifeheart

"There is no evil in this world, only circumstances which bring you into opposition with those who have designs other than yours."
- Craydon Knifeheart

General Lee once described Knifeheart as "...the most conniving gentleman-wizard the world did ever produce, and if he wasn't a wizard, I would duel him with pistols until he was dead!".  Possibly considered the most dastardly of the wizards the South created, Knifeheart still was received well as a gentleman, and had a bizarre sort of honor that gained him respect in spite of his ruthlessness. Craydon produced a particularly strange sort of malevolence towards his enemies, and his preferred method of attack would be to turn his foe into a newt or some other form of pathetic creature, that he then would give to his rat familiar to devour.  A Warlock of the First Order, Crayon was the essential component in assassinating many of the Unions greatest wizards and warlocks, his tactics however would often put him at odds with the rest of the forces.  This hubris would be his undoing, and after the war he was shunned and driven into obscurity and thievery, where it was rumored he was shot in the back by a baby.

Theodore Ravenbone

A high-born Hairyan, Ravenbone was teased during his childhood for his unnaturally ghoulish features and garnered the nickname "Puggy". Generally considered one of the finest Sorcerers to ever come from Westpoint, Ravenbone rose quickly to the task of thwarting Confederate Warlocks on the field of battle and gained the rank of Wizard-Captain by the Spring of 1863.  Wounded twenty times in all, most of which were only minor psychological brain-wounds from extended ethereal warfare.  One wound was more serious, when at Little Round Top his Sizzling Smoke spell fizzled and he was hit directly with a curse that turned his right leg into a newt, which quickly slithered away. Awarded the Ghastly Badge of Glory seven times, he was the 5th most decorated wizard in the Union. Ravenbone was killed during the Siege of Atlanta by Craydon Knifeheart during a duel on a magic carpet, wherein he was hit with a Hex and then flew his carpet under a low bridge, promptly removing his head.  He is survived by his raven familiar, Randall.

Random Dump

Here is a bunch of random stuff:

An even weirder adventurer done in three minutes or less!

Shadowrun Promo

Armitage, revenging himself upon corporations that want him dead, since 2050.

Glutman

Jake! You're still alive?!! You're crazy man. You got tech in your head people want, bad! Word on the street is that someone wants you DEAD!
So, it came to mind that I haven't explained what a few of these pictures are. Glutman here, Kitsune and Jake Armitage are all characters from Shadowrun, a 1994 SNES game based off the paper and dice game. Being one of my favorite games of all time, it only made sense that I do some redone art for it. I am just making my way through some of the characters that Jake is involved with along the way, as well as some illustrations based off it.

Also another Civil War era quick study.

This guy's standin'

Another study...I guess I am on another tangent here.

This guy's sittin'

Just a study for the evening.

John Lorimer Worden

My good friend Eric and I have had many great conversations about the Civil War, one topic which we heartily agreed upon was that to be an Ironclad sailor you had to be just a weensy bit nuts.  I think Worton's stare says a lot about this.  He took command of the Monitor in 1862 and during the Battle of Hampton Roads (a channel) was wounded grievously, in the eyes. Think on it.

Murrow, E. R.

This....is CBS. Tonight's pre-work warm up!  ENJOY!

Kitsune

When Armitage is fragged, Kitsune is summoned by his then unknown spirit totem "H'oochin Ikwa" or "Dog" and revives him to begin him on his revenge-quest. *edit* I forgot to mention, she is a shape-shifter and can transform into a fox, hence the ears.

Armitage!? You!

They believed me dead, imagine the surprise when I blow up their volcano.  I am Jake Armitage, and I'm coming for you, Drake.

BIlly Sherman

Here he is, ol' grit himself. William T Sherman, the man who from the start advocated a system of total war against the South and was thought mentally ill. Years later, as Sherman left the ashes of a razed Atlanta behind, the idea of complete war was realized and thus the war brought to a spiraling finality.

"Fightin" Joseph Hooker

A moderately successful General, after some major defeats, and getting his ass handed to him by Lee at Chancellorsville, he was subordinated to Grant in the west.  He came back strong as a commander essential to Sherman, but was passed over for further promotions.  He also led Lincoln's funeral procession.  Also, talk about hat-head!

The Ladies Man

Robert Edward Lee

Commander of the Army of Northern Virginia, the bane of the Union, and the front yard of his house at Arlington was turned into a Union cemetery to give him the ol' what for.

Abe -V- Ness

Fly on, Mr Lincoln!

Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain

Served in 20 battles, numerous skirmishes, was cited for bravery four times, had six horses shot from under him, was wounded six times and received the Medal of Honor.

U.S. Grant

A portrait for the evening. Leitenant-General Ulysses S. Grant

Shadow Archon

"He strode the field, weaving a darkness that bit and clove. Far worse than the fear of death, was survival - with a shadow you no longer possessed."

Another....

I might need to take some of these to painting phase.

Omega post

Heeeeey.

Alright, so I have been working on a project, making raw material for another artist.  I am helping him get some ideas down for a graphic novel he is putting out soon.  Basically I was hired on to help with layin-in and get the fantasy art stuff designed out.  The deadlines on this project are extremely short, so I don't get a lot of time to extrapolate this stuff out, its really for him to have something so that he is not "designing while illustrating" which is extremely difficult when you have 1200 illustrations to do, haha.

Also, none of this stuff is ready for portfolio.  I would spend more time getting things painted and refined, I just wanted to show people what has been going on these past months.

Anyway, omega-dump here we go.  Also, this is only a selection of the works.

Old Man Brown

This guy is going to write about how he is going to have you killed.

Old Man of the Sea

with squid hat!

I am having fun with these.

Old Man Green

Here is yet another.

Old Man White

Ok, so I have been a bad man.  I have work to post and have not, because I am afraid of the computer....it says things to me while I am trying to sleep.

So, here is something I did today while warming up for work.  It could be Gandalf.....but he's not.

News Ahoy!

Hello everyone!  I have some terrific news.  After a series of unexpected events, I am now represented by the Silver Agency.  Currently through these events I am going to be illustrating two separate graphic novels. As time and progress occurs I will show what I am able, but being "top secret" projects currently, I can show nothing until publication...you know the drill. I am not on the agency website yet, because the site is going under some small renovations and we are in no huge rush as these projects will be soaking up 99% of my work time as is.  So look for a new announcement soon as things develop.  Hope everyone is well, and till next we speak, goodnight!

Tracking

Hey everybody, I know its been some time since I have posted anything, I have no idea if people even still check here. This is something I did a few afternoons ago, and I am developing, so I thought I would publish it here. I have honestly some crazy stuff happening to me right now. I have a couple more people to talk to in person about it, then I will probably make a general announcement. Suffice it to say, its nuts.

After turning off color correction, I see that some of these images have turned nearly completely black.  This is not as intended, and if your monitor is displaying these as large areas of darkness and no detail, I aplogize. I will try and correct these at some point for accurate viewing.
